BETTER LOVERS Is In The Studio For Their Sophomore Album

Better Lovers has officially entered the studio to begin work on their highly anticipated sophomore album. The band confirmed via social media on July 18 that recording sessions began the day prior, on July 17. Once again, GRAMMY-winning producer and guitarist Will Putney — known for his work with Fit for an Autopsy, Knocked Loose, and Body Count — is expected to oversee production duties.

Formed in 2023, Better Lovers have quickly made a name for themselves within the metal and hardcore scenes. The band includes former members of influential acts Every Time I Die and The Dillinger Escape Plan. Fronted by the electrifying Greg Puciato and featuring the talents of Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, Stephen Micciche, and Will Putney, the group brings together a wealth of experience and stage presence.

Their debut EP God Made Me An Animal turned heads with its unrelenting energy and precision, and then their 2024 debut album Highly Irresponsible just straight u p wrecked those people. So who knows what we’re about to hear from Better Lovers, but I’m sure it’ll be awesome.

In the meantime, you can look forward to Blissmas ’25, the annual festival curated by Better Lovers. Blissmas ’25 returns on Saturday, December 13 at Buffalo RiverWorks in Buffalo, NY, promising a genre-blending celebration of heavy music and high-octane entertainment.

Presented by After Dark, this year’s lineup is stacked with iconic and underground acts alike, featuring Better Lovers headlining alongside legendary post-hardcore innovators Glassjaw, emo veterans Saves The Day, hardcore staples Terror, and rap legends Onyx. The bill also includes Haywire, Teen Mortgage, Koyo, and Johnny Booth, with a full wrestling showcase adding an extra layer of chaos to the festivities. Get your tickets here.
