Fresh off a new trailer, excitement for Disney+ series Wonder Man is being tempered by a new report detailing the show’s episode runtimes, with one particular episode causing a major backlash from fans.
Marvel fans are displeased with Wonder Man’s runtimes
Marvel Television’s Wonder Man is set to premiere on Disney+ on January 27, 2026, bringing to life one of the lesser-known heroes from the Marvel comics. However, excitement quickly turned to frustration after a new report revealed the show’s episode runtimes, particularly one that clocks in at less than 24 minutes.
According to a report by X (formerly Twitter) user “Legado da Marvel,” Wonder Man will feature eight episodes, with most running between 30 to 34 minutes, except for episode five, which is reportedly just 23 minutes long. This left a fan saying, “23 minutes?? Might as well upload it on YouTube.” Another quipped, “Episode 5? What the f— is this s–t?”
It extended to comparisons with defunct short-form platforms, with one comment reading, “We’re rapidly regressing towards Quibi runtimes.” Another fan commented on the disparity, saying, “So we’re all just gonna ignore how episode 5 is like that awkward short friend in a tall crowd #justiceforep5.”
The overall sentiment suggests a preference for fewer, longer episodes, as summed up by a fan who stated, “These short-ass runtimes. Make it like six episodes then.”
