The tagline for Fackham Hall is “Born to aristocracy. Bred for idiocy,” and the trailer for the film pretty much lives up to that.
Tonally in the vein of Airplane! and Monty Python, but set in the world of period dramas like Downton Abbey and Gosford Park, Fackham Hall follows loveable pickpocket Eric Noone (Ben Radcliffe) as he lands a job at English manor house Fackham Hall. He quickly rises through the ranks, and a forbidden romance with lady-of-the-house Rose Davenport (Thomasin McKenzie) blossoms. But when an unexpected murder occurs, Eric gets framed — leaving Rose and her family’s future perilously uncertain. That’s when this upstairs-downstairs comedy becomes a whodunit.
Katherine Waterston, Emma Laird, Tom Felton, and Damian Lewis also star in the film directed by Jim O’Hanlon and written by Jimmy Carr, Patrick Carr and the Dawson Brothers.
Fan-owned entertainment company Legion M has entered into a financing and distribution partnership with Bleecker Street on Fackham Hall, a forthcoming spoof comedy slated for release in theaters nationwide on December 5.
